Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Litterbox is a small, non-commercial, fan-made site for Cat Goes Fishing mods, run by one person in their
spare time - not a company. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects,
why, and what say you have over it. If anything here is unclear, just email
litterbox.fishercat@gmail.com.
1. Who runs Litterbox
Litterbox (litterbox.oops.wtf) is
operated independently, as a hobby, by an individual based in Poland. It isn't a registered company, and
it doesn't run ads or make money from the site in any way - it exists purely to help Cat Goes Fishing
modders share their work in one place. For anything related to privacy or your data, contact
litterbox.fishercat@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Account info - if you sign up with email and password, we store your email address and your password (encrypted, we never see it in plain text) through our database provider, Supabase.
- Discord sign-in - if you choose "Continue with Discord" instead, Discord shares your account email and basic profile info with us through Discord's own login system (OAuth), and you don't set a separate password.
- Profile info - the username you pick, plus anything optional you add: a short bio and an avatar image.
- Content you upload - mod files, names, descriptions, icons, banners, and any changelog or announcement posts you write.
- Activity on the site - which mods you favorite, follow, or rate, and any reports you submit about a mod.
- Basic technical data - standard web server logs from GitHub Pages (which hosts these pages) and Supabase (our database and file host), such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. This is routine infrastructure logging, not something we've set up ourselves to track or analyze you.
3. Why we use it
- To run your account and the site's features - signing up, logging in, uploading mods, favoriting, following, notifications.
- To keep the community safe - reviewing new mods before they go public, handling reports, and preventing abuse.
- Where you've chosen it - for example, signing in through Discord instead of a password.
4. What's public vs. private
Heads up: your username, avatar, bio, badges, and the mods you've uploaded and
favorited are all shown publicly on your profile page, visible to anyone - logged in or not.
Your email address, password, and any reports you submit are never shown publicly.
Keep this in mind when choosing a username or avatar, and when favoriting mods if you'd rather that stay private.
5. Who we share data with
- Supabase (supabase.com) - hosts the site's database, file storage, and login system. Depending on how the project is configured, this may store data outside Poland or the EEA.
- Discord - only if you choose to sign in with Discord; Discord Inc. handles that login step directly.
- GitHub Pages - hosts the static pages you're browsing right now.
We don't sell your data, run advertising, or share it with marketers. We don't currently use any analytics or tracking tools.
6. Cookies & local storage
Litterbox doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. To keep you logged in, your browser stores your
session using local storage - a technology similar to cookies. This is strictly necessary for the site
to function and doesn't require separate consent under EU rules. If that ever changes (for example, if
we add analytics in the future), we'll update this page first.
7. How long we keep things
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. You can delete any mod you've
uploaded yourself, any time, from its Manage page. To delete your whole account, email us and we'll take
care of it. We may keep minimal records of serious rule violations (like a removed mod containing
malware) for abuse-prevention purposes even after an account is deleted.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the data we hold about you (access)
- Correct inaccurate data (rectification)
- Delete your data (erasure)
- Limit how we use it (restriction) or object to certain uses
- Give you your data in a portable format (portability)
To use any of these rights, email litterbox.fishercat@gmail.com.
If you're not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can complain to Poland's data protection
authority, the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
9. Age requirement
Litterbox is meant for users aged 13 and up. If you're under 16, EU and Polish law
require that you have a parent or guardian's permission before creating an account. By signing up, you're
confirming that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a child has created an account without the
appropriate permission, we'll remove it.
10. Security
We rely on Supabase's security infrastructure and follow reasonable practices to protect your data, but
no online service can guarantee complete security. Please use a password you don't reuse anywhere else,
or sign in with Discord instead.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant
changes, we'll try to post an announcement on the site as well.
